Expanding

This shot took a surprising amount of manipulation - first, high saturation to bring out the weird tones in the bark, then masking to blur the background, then adjusting contrast and saturation on the background ivy. Finally, I overlaid the whole thing with a slight blur; I wanted it to evoke a fey sort of wood, or something like the Sunbane's Fertile Sun [see Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Second].
